2023 on
Currently providing advisory in supply chain, procurement and finance. Developing and integrating agents that manage procurement workflows. Using Claude Code, shipped Riskio, an app that monitors commercial risk from public information sources.
2021–2023
Co-founded an aerial drone venture, to put the captured information to work in operations and process redesign for energy companies and the agricultural value chain. Developed cases using thermal sensors and high-resolution imagery, aimed at gains in safety, cost and response time. Exited in 2023 as capital ran short.
2019–2021
Reorganized supply chain around category management: ended the evergreen contracts, brought in supplier scorecards, implemented the Oracle e-sourcing module. The San Antonio context allowed some processes to be put in order, but not a transformation.
2013–2018
Delivered the turnaround for Archer DLS: took the function from purely transactional to a modern procurement and supply chain organization. Selected the team, improved systems, simplified processes, implemented management by KPIs. Also ran physical security, rig moves (DTM), government relations, operating bases, and equipment and asset control. Designed the parts supply process for electronic rigs operating in unconventionals. Generated savings through automated sensor control of fuel and improved chemicals sourcing.
2011–2013
First full organizational restructuring: it reached the whole of ENAP's supply chain, corporate level included. Designed the E&P and Downstream organization. Ran Supply Chain and IT for Ecuador, Chile and Argentina. Learned offshore operations and supply, and two conventional onshore business models: CGSJ and Ecuador.
2008–2011
At Clorox, managed the procurement team supplying six plants across southern Latin America. Built the team, implemented processes and category management. Went deeper into chemicals and packaging markets and their different sourcing strategies.
1997–2008
Started out at Shell in sales and operations, including supply to the upstream operations in Salta. Took a procurement position in Buenos Aires: an early implementation of e-sourcing (Ariba) and category management across Latin America. From Houston, developed sourcing strategies and value-chain analysis for global categories in Lubricants and Refining.
